Seraya Village located in plateau and very dry, so very difficult to find water resources when dry season comes. Dry season create many problem in this village like the farmer can’t irrigate their rice field. The leaders of Seraya village make a meeting to get the solution of dry situation. They agree to conduct unique ritual, it called by Gebug Ende.

This ritual is unique ritual and believed by Seraya society for solving their problem of prolonged dry season. Gebug Ende become from 2 words, “Gebug” means hit and “Ende” mean a tool used to fend off (shield). The tool used to hit is made from rattan with length 1.5 meter until 2 meter. The shield is made from dry buffalo leather and shape is circle. The other people call this ritual with “Gebug Seraya”.

One upon time, Seraya’s people are as the Karangasem Empire soldier and they had duty to attack or destroy Seleparang Empire (in West Lombok). They are able to destroy Seleparang Empire, because Seraya’s people are strong and invulnerable. The soldiers are not satisfied, and want to war again but their enemy was lost so they attack their own friends.
