Scenes from "Wonderful Indonesia" – the country’s official tourism marketing campaign – will be displayed on billboards at the famous Times Square intersection in New York from May to June.

According to the Tourism Ministry’s marketing development deputy, I Gde Pitana, Times Square is one of the most coveted advertising spots in the world.

"There is a lot of world-class entertainment around the area as well, taking our marketing campaign there is a wise move," Pitana said.

The images displayed on Times Square feature highlights from Indonesia’s famous tourist destinations, including Komodo dragons in East Nusa Tenggara and the underwater beauty of Raja Ampat in West Papua.

This is the second time Indonesia puts itself on display at Times Square, the first time was last year.
