Bali's Head of Health Nyoman Gede Anom confirmed that the enthusiasm of the Balinese people to receive the Covid-19 booster vaccine has grown rapidly since the government decided to make the vaccine booster certificate a condition of travel. before Eid. in May 2022.
"These new travel requirements have helped increase the distribution of vaccine boosters on the island," Anom said.
In anticipation of the massive demand for vaccine boosters, the authorities have decided to extend the opening hours of vaccination sites.
“We have decided to extend the opening hours of the vaccination site until late at night. Some of our medical staff even distribute vaccines at home,” added Anom.
Since the provincial government of Bali began distributing booster injections in early January 2022, 52.4% of Bali's population received booster injections in April.
“Even though the Covid-19 vaccine is out of date in some areas, we still have more than 137,000 doses of vaccine left. Therefore, we are optimistic that we can achieve a 100% vaccination rate in the near future,” concluded Anom.
