The central government has begun allowing tourism businesses such
as restaurants and cafes in Bali to operate until midnight with several strict
conditions.
The spokesman for the Badung Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Gusti
Ngurah Gede Jaya Saputra, confirmed that the government has begun to allow
tourism businesses to operate until midnight, in accordance with the latest
instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs regarding the partial lockdown
implementation in Bali and Java on Monday (20/9).
“Although we have not received a decree from the Bali provincial
government regarding the latest central government adjustment, this policy is
currently being implemented for enterprises here.” Saputra stated on Wednesday,
September 22nd. Meanwhile, the Head of the Badung Public Civil Service, I Gusti
Agung Ketut Suryanegara, remarked in a separate location that the government
has granted leniency, particularly to enterprises that operate in the evening.
“As a result of those guidelines, firms that traditionally open at
6:00 p.m. can now operate until midnight while adhering to tight preventative
protocols.” According to Suryanegara. He said that restaurants and cafés are
only allowed to operate at 25% capacity, and each table can only be held by a
maximum of two persons for one hour.
“Aside from that, each customer is required to scan a QR code using
the PeduliLindungi tracing app before entering the restaurants or cafes in
order to conduct a proper screening for everyone, including staff.” Suryanegara
concluded.
