Ngurah Rai International Airport Denpasar, Bali was closed temporarily on Friday (14/10/2016).
The closure was done because of the improvement of the runway at the airport.
"True (Ngurah Rai Airport was closed). There runway improvements," said Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), Israwadi when contacted, Jakarta, Friday (14/10/2016).
Israwadi explained, renovations & repairs were made because of the small small cracks near runway 09 where the plane landed (landing).
According Israwadi, it wouldn't have had much impact on the take offs but landings could have been on risks. However, for the sake of safety considerations decided Ngurah Rai Airport temporarily closed.
"The Ngurah Rai menotamkan The closure began at 08.00 am until 12.00 pm," he added.
Israwadi also said the information was distributed among the passengers at each airport closure.
"We have already announced the closure of the airports in each destination to Bali," he said.
