While the Bali jungle town is no stranger to such beautiful primates, the superior monkey King Hanoman has taken to the Ubud streets to celebrate the new year.
A video of Hanoman, the Hindu mythical white monkey king (who you may recognize if you've been to any Hindu dances like the epic Ramayana), has emerged fresh outta Ubud.
The video, “Hanoman Skate De Ubud” shows the white monkey king skateboarding through Ubud from the rice paddies to the main street, Jl. Raya Ubud, and many spaces in between. We especially love how the monkey kneels when he passes a temple, pays a visit to Monkey Forest, and goes for a coffee at Monkey Cave Espresso Ubud.
Put together by Silur Barong, a collective workspace of young filmmakers in Bali, we think the video is an awesome way to kick off the new year, Bali-style.
