Yesterday a tragedy hit Bali when a ferry carrying 30 tourists and 4 crew members exploded during its travel between Indonesian resort islands of Bali and Lombok. The explosion killed two foreigners and injured 18, some of them are still in critical conditions.

The tourists who have been killed are identified as one Australian women while the identity of the other foreigner female casualty is still to be identified. While the injured tourists include two from Germany, few from Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, Ireland and Spain.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be identified however any sort of foul play is clearly ruled out. A member of forensic team on active investigation states that there are signs of accident. The Karangasem district police chief, Sugeng Sudarso, said earlier that all the passengers had been evacuated from the Gili Cat 2 fast boat and the injured were being treated at a medical clinic.

Sudarso confirmed that the explosion occured a few minutes after the ferry left Padangbai port in Karangasem. Smoke was seen billowing from the engine. The boat captain is still being questioned while the forensic team is working round the clock to identify the reason of explosion.
