The festival will be highlighted with exciting events that include a so-called Komodo Parade, a Photography Competition, Beach Volley, Boat Rowing Competitions, the Komodo Beauty Pageant, Workshops, Handicrafts Exhibition, Art and Music Performances, and a whole lot more.
During the festival, everyone is invited to
visit the Papagarang Traditional village which has many unique attractions. The village is located in the midst between Labuan Bajo, Komodo Island, and Rinca Island (Komodo, Rinca, and Padar Islands are the only three islands in the worldin the Komodo National Park where Komodo dragons are still to be found roaming in the wild). Here, discover the unique cluster of sandy islands called the Nine islands which together form the number nine shape,where in its midst you can find
Jelly fish trapped in the lagoon.
Here is also the traditional fishing village of the Bajo and Sape ethnic groups. Having a long tradition of seafaring across the Indonesian archipelago, the village features distinct stilt houses, you will see people drying fish and squid, while rows of traditional boats are parked along the beach. Whereas, at the western coast of the village, you will meet “mermaids” - the unique sea creatures called dugongs. Rich in seaweed, dugongs findrich nutrients in this area, the sight of which, of course, offers a rare,one of a kind spectacle for visitors.
