Officials from the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force have confirmed that Covid-19 cases on the island have started to decrease.

After being chastised by the central government during an inspection on August 12, 2021, the Bali provincial government was pushed by the Maritime and Investment Coordinator Minister, Luhut Binsar Panjdaitan, to reduce Covid-19 transmissions, which continued to rise despite the current vaccine distribution in Bali. I Made Rentin, Secretary of the Bali Covid-19 Handling Task Force, said that their efforts had finally yielded a beneficial impact, as Covid-19 cases began to decline.

“We've finally seen a favorable shift since the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, police, and military officers joined forces to conduct the centralized quarantine program for asymptomatic Covid-19 patients in Bali.” On Sunday (22/8), Rentin stated. According to the data, from roughly 11,803 active instances on the 5th of August 2021, the latest active Covid-19 cases on the 21st of August 2021 have already decreased to 9,982 cases.

As of Friday (20/8), the province administration has allocated 363 quarantine facilities with a total of 6,119 beds for asymptomatic Covid patients. The majority of existing Covid-19 patients are asymptomatic or have minimal symptoms. “In order to maintain this positive momentum, we ask Bali residents who have been confirmed positive to voluntarily migrate to a nearby quarantine facility in their area.” Rentin concluded.
