Including 3 children 8 people were killed and 30 were critically injured when the famous yellow suspension bridge collapsed in Bali last week. This famous suspension bridge connects the two Islands in Indonesia and one of them is famous resort Island of Bali. This bridge linked the KlungKlung with the Lembongan and Ceningan Island and is used as a daily commute for by the locals and the tourists. The bridge collapsed around 6:30 Pm on Sunday when people were coming back from their prayers and work routine.
The victims including the 3 children have been identified but authorities have yet not released their names. The 30 injured patients faced minor and critical injuries out of which 2 are still admitted in the hospital while others have been discharged after providing the necessary treatment. There have been no tourists or foreigners reported in the list of the affected so far. The authorities are still trying to determine if there are any people missing.
The reason behind the collapse is due to the large number of crowd. Victims who died or got injured are believed to have suffered because of the falling debris as the water wasn't too deep and is estimated to be no deeper than 2 meters. This bridge was only used by the pedestrians, motorcyclists and bikers.
