Officials from the Denpasar municipal administration
have alleged that the emergency partial lockdown has substantially limited the
movement of Denpasar citizens.
Denpasar Mayor IGN Jaya Negara stated that Denpasar
citizens' movement has been limited by 20% since Bali's emergency partial
lockdown was enforced. “This implementation has substantially limited people's
movement in Denpasar city, particularly with the 8:00 p.m. curfew policy.” On
Wednesday (14/7), Jaya Negara stated.
Based on this accomplishment, Jaya Negara expects that
the central government will reconsider their proposal to prolong the emergency
partial lockdown in Bali and Java, which is set to expire on July 20th, 2021.
“We hope and pray that Covid-19 broadcasts will be handled effectively
throughout this implementation, so that the central government would abandon
their intention to continue this emergency partial lockdown for several weeks.”
Jaya Negara elaborated.
Meanwhile the Spokesman of the Denpasar Covid-19
Handling Task Force, I Dewa Gede Rai said that officials have secured several
road accesses such as Jalan Ahmad Yani Utara, Jalan Nangka Utara, Jalan Seroja,
Jalan Trengguli Penatih, Jalan Gunung Sanghyang, Jalan Gatsu Barat, Jalan
Teuku Umar, Jalan Gunung Salak, Jalan Kunti, Jalan Tohpati and Jalan Sunset
Road in order to restrict the city border from people from other regions during
the emergency partial lockdown.
“In order to obtain admission into Denpasar city
during the emergency partial lockdown, anyone from outside Denpasar must
produce Covid-19 vaccination cards, a negative result from quick antigen
testing, or an official working letter.” Gede Rai concluded.
