After 8 years of operation, officials from Jasamarga Toll Road Maintenance (PT. JMRM) and Jasamarga Bali Toll (PT JBT) have begun the first maintenance for Bali Mandara Toll Road.
I Putu Gandi Ginantra, PT JBT's Manager Operation Assistant and Maintenance, confirmed that Bali Toll Road maintenance and inspection have only recently begun to address several issues with the infrastructure, which has been in operation since 2013.
"Maintenance will be performed from October 23rd to November 14th, 2021, after being previously inspected by experts," Ginantra said on Saturday (23/10).
According to the most recent inspection, officials will perform a variety of tasks to repair this road, including scraping, filling, overlaying (SFO), expanding joints, reconstructing, and hardening the road.
This program started as a preventative measure to avoid further damage on the toll road, which could lead to an incident.
"We decided to partially fix the issues because this program started to prevent further damage to this road," Ginantra explained.
Despite the maintenance, PT JBT President Director I Ketut Adipura Karang assured that the toll road will remain operational with a few modifications.
"We have planned to remain partially operational, so a complete shutdown will not be necessary," Adipura said.
Adipura, on the other hand, ensured that all construction workers would follow prevention protocols, and that officers would be on-site to help direct traffic.
