An official at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport predicts Bali will receive more domestic visitors this weekend.

Director of Bali Stakeholder Relations Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, said Bali airport is expected to receive a significant increase in domestic arrivals in the coming days.

Many people have hesitated to travel since the government officially lifted the Covid test requirement for vaccinated domestic visitors on Tuesday (8/3).

"With the recent adjustment to the travel needs of domestic tourists, we are quite optimistic about the increase in flight arrivals and passenger traffic this weekend," said Taufan, Wednesday (9/3).

He estimates the number of daily passengers will increase by 20% compared to the situation before the travel policy adjustment.

However, Taufan remains committed to implementing prevention protocols during airport operations so that there are no Covid-19 clusters in the area.

The PCR and antigen testing facilities will continue to operate because Covid tests are still needed for travelers who have not been fully vaccinated. The new policy only applies to fully vaccinated travelers.
