baby shark with human face found in indonesia
After a Rote Ndao fisherman in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT, in its Spanish initials), a baby shark with a "human face" has created a little online hubbub in Indonesia today after he recently cut off his mother.
Only after the 48 years old Abdullah Fero, who had trapped in his trawl during night fishing during the weekend, did a bizarre discovery come to light. Later on, Abdullah told the local press that he had found in his stomach three pups.
Although two pups looked like typical hawks, the other pup looked like human beings and had two wide eyes under his body and a prominent jaw.
"I was surprised to find a shark like that I've gone fishing, even almost crossing Australian waters," said Abdullah.
Since that time, the fisherman said he had protected the rare baby shark that now draws interested residents. Furthermore, the pup has broad dissemination online with photographs and videos. Abdullah also said that someone offered to pay him.
At the time of publication, Coconuts' appeal for observations on the discovery has not yet been responded to by the Natural Resource Conservation Center (BKSDA).
Shark fishing in Indonesia still is permitted because sharks are listed as species at risk. Indonesian law officially covers only the whale shark, which is also known as Rhyncodon typus. It is not immediately clear which shark species Abdullah had caught.
Recent research released just last month showed that overfishing in the previous half-century had wiped out over 70% of some shark and ray species. For years, scientists have cautioned that unregulated reductions in the shark population would harm the ocean and human lives.
